First
7-Figure Sale Reported Since August + Two at $500,000 Headline DNJ's
Latest Top 20 Chart
It seems appropriate
that in our last bi-weekly domain sales report before Christmas,
Santa delivered the gift we have been hoping to see for
several months now - more high end domain sales! He
even came through with the first publicly reported 7-figure
domain sale since August - a $1,160,235 sale of Ballet.com
that crowns our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart.
The domain, purchased by a crypto
company in a deal brokered by Puneet Agarwal, also earned a
spot in the top ten (at #9) on our
year-to-date Top 100
Sales Chart.
Thanks
to Sedo,
we also got to unwrap a pair of half-million sales that
sent twins Rebate.com and Rebates.com into the
top 20 sales reported year to date.
The next three spots
on the the new chart were all filled by big ccTLD
sales, including two more that soared into six figures - Sedo's
$128,400 sale of EV.fr and WebInvest.it's
$117,700 sale of Alberghi.it ("hotels" in
Italian). Both of those rank among the five biggest country
code sales reported so
far this year (the ccTLD YTD Top 100 is the
second chart on the page linked to).
Right behind those
blockbusters, at #6 on the Big Board, is a $79,444 sale
of Bling.io via Efty.com.
That wasn't the end of the good news for country code domains
either. They went on to pile up seven chart entries overall,
including two more in the top ten - #8 Scalar.de at $26,750
and # Game.co at $21,486. Sedo, who has long
dominated the ccTLD aftermarket, accounted for all of the
country code sales except Alberghi.it.
The
non .com gTLDs were limited to one chart entry, a solid $40,888
sale of a nice one-letter new gTLD - A.game - that also
closed through Sedo.
Everything
else went to the .coms as they swept 14 of the 22
entries overall (the extra spots resulted from a three-way tie
for the final position). Sedo again did the heavy lifting in
this category with an assist from Dynadot
who booked the $15,000 sale of Grinta.com that
shared the #13 slot with Aloshop.com.

Keep in mind that these are the highest value
cash only sales that have been reported to us in the
past two weeks. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not
a complete list documenting ALL high value domain
sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales
are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both.

Country
Codes
The ccTLDs were of
course led by that pair of six-figure sales you saw on the
all-extension leader board above - EV.fr at $128,400 and
Alberghi.it at $117,700. With seven country domains
crashing the Big Board, the biggest sale in this group that you
haven't seen yet is #8 on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart.
That is a $9,300 sale of MDC.uk atBuyDomainNames.co.uk.
Sedo rounded out the
top ten with MyTicket.es and Orbit.ca at $8,000 each.
They went on to sweep the second half of the leader board with the
exception of Dynadot's $7,000 sale of #14 8.ag.
The TLD race was a
very diverse one this time around the track with 12 different
extensions represented on the honor roll. With the field so spread out
we wound up with a three-way tie for the lead (with 3 chart entries
each) between .fr, .io and .de.

ccTLD sales stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Dec.

Non .com gTLDs
The non .com gTLDs were
led by the $40,888 sale A.game at Sedo, a
price that put it among the 30 biggest sales reported from this
category so far this year. Dynadot claimed the #2
spot on our latest Non .Com gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart with CNSMedia.agency
at $7,946.
Sedo wound up
sweeping 17 of the 20 chart entries, including #3 ConceptLabs.xyz
at $5,995 and #4 Cosmopolis.net at $5,202.
Swetha.xyz
rounded out the first five with Tapioca.xyz at $5,127.
In a throwback to the
pre-new gTLD days, the TLD race was a two-way battle between
legacy extensions .net and .org, with the .nets eking
out a narrow 6-5 win in terms of chart entries.
